Found Photographs
The photographs were collected over four years from flea markets in three cities. I kept only the images in which someone had clearly been looking carefully at someone else.
The Letters
Each photograph is paired on the facing page with a short letter — a few sentences, never more than a paragraph — addressed to one of the figures pictured. The letters are written in the second person and signed only with a date.
